About the painter Kari Eig

I was born in 1965. I live in Oslo, Norway. I am a self-taught artist. Oil painting has been an important part of my life for many years.

My need and wish is to show love’s endless road through my paintings. From joy, passion and beauty, to frustration, longing and sorrow. I also find inspiration from what surrounds me in my everyday life.

I paint in a naive way and most of my paintings have a figurative expression that they reveal on the canvas in their bright and clear colors. The color palette is chosen from what gives me energy. In that way I can feel the nerve in the painting better.

What unfolds on the canvas comes from my heart and soul, embraced with the beauty I manage to bring to the work. The process is absolutely free and without limitations. I find the work both balancing and giving. A source of joy and happiness.
